On 11th July 2025, pupils from five East Birmingham secondary schools came together at Birmingham REP for a vibrant Big Careers Event — a day designed to open up pathways, raise aspirations, and connect young people with future opportunities.

Throughout the day, pupils took part in workshops, explored training and employment options, and heard from employers and colleges about what’s possible after school.

A highlight of the day was hearing from two inspirational guest speakers:

  • Amina Hussain

An award-winning founder of SME Outsourcing, shared her personal journey of growing up in inner-city Birmingham and building a successful career in finance and business. She encouraged pupils to believe in their own potential and pursue opportunities with confidence and resilience.

  • Errol Lawson

Leadership coach and author, spoke powerfully about overcoming challenges and staying focused on your goals. He ended his session by gifting a signed copy of his book, The Teen’s Guide to Becoming Unstoppable, to one pupil who had asked a thoughtful question — a memorable moment for everyone in the room.

Empowering the Next Generation.

A glimpse into a day filled with guidance, opportunity, and unforgettable moments.
